It is time for you to check your posture.
Does your back hurt? Do you feel tired after sitting all day? If so, these symptoms might have something to do with how you sit. The way a person sits in a chair is important. This is especially true for people like students and office workers who sit for long hours.
Harvard University and other institutes have carried out research on the effects of poor posture. These effects are not just limited to back and neck pain. Poor posture puts extra stress on muscles and joints. This leads to fatigue, chronic pain, and even damage to small muscles in the arms, hands, and legs. This can result in injuries or medical disorders. Studies also show that poor posture can prevent the blood in our bodies from flowing properly.

Sitting slouched is also bad for our digestion. Slouching makes it harder for food to move through the digestive system, which can cause heartburn. It also makes our bodies unable to absorb nutrients well. Leaning forward in our chairs can be bad for our bodies as well. This position can make us press our teeth together, which can lead to jaw pain and headaches.

Tips in Use
1. how 作关系副词时,只用以修饰 the way(方式、方法),即等于 in which。
例: That’s how Hank handled the problem.
= That’s the way (in which) Hank handled the problem.
2. 但使用时,how 和 the way 只能择一使用。将 the way 省略,保留 how;或将 how 省略,而保留 the way,两者不能同时使用。
例: Anna doesn’t know the way how we do things in our office. (╳)
→ Anna doesn’t know how we do things in our office. (○)
= Anna doesn’t know the way we do things in our office. (○)
